Yarn shopping

I decided after work today to head over to the my LNS and do some early birthday shopping for myself. Boy did I have a time trying not to pick up everything I saw today. I really wanted some Karabella Gossamer but at 25.00 a ball that was just a little to much for me. Maybe someone that really loves me will pick up my wish list at Stitches in Tulsa to pick out 2 balls of these lovely yarn :)
I did buy the pattern for the Triangular shawl for the Gossamer yarn today in hopes my dear boyfriend will pick out the 2 balls for me next week :) .. Do you think he will get the hint after reading this post..lol..
Not alot going on here, just trying to finish the baby blanket I have been working on and to finish a pair of socks I started for my honey. He come back home for good 2 days ago and I am really happy to have him back! It was really hard having him gone for 5 weeks, so I really hope that he will not have to go back out any time soon.. Speaking of which, he got the promotion to Field supervisior manager at Dish Network! I am so very proud of him. Poor thing had to do 4 interviews for this position and went out of market to work for 5 weeks . It will be alot of new work for him,but he will not do installations anymore and will have more time at home :)
My weight loss is still going and I am down almost 14 pounds. I have stalled because I am not working out and im just keeping off what I have lost..
Hope all my friends are doing well and are knitting hard.. Till next time all..

Rambelings

So like I mentioned in the last post, I really am trying to loss weight and get into shape. There are 10 pounds gone so far and I did the treadmill for a hour lastnight! I have not been on this thing in over a year so I am guessing I did pretty good. In doing all of this I have to keep focus of the fact that I am doing this to feel and look better. The meds for my bloodpressure have really worked so now its my turn to get my work outs done. Weight watcher is in my furture since I know I need meetings to keep motivated and to be around others that are working hard to over come the fat to. Lossing 2 pounds a week will be great, but I am keeping an open mind to all this, I'm not going to pressure myself into falure so soon in the game. I hope to post once a week to keep my self accountable. :)

Babys and such

This is what I have been working on for most of the week at work. This is a baby blanket I was going to have this finished about 6 or 7 months , I just started it ,talk about not wanting to do this.Don't get me wrong I love baby's but it was the whole Idea of making the blanket it's self, the colors she wanted and what pattern I was going to use. I ended up using a pattern for a regular afghan and just halfed so it would be alot smaller. It's called Very Victorian and is crochet. I have not touched a crochet hook in over 2 years now since learning how to knit, but I have to say this is alot of fun but can't wait till it is over. The colors are light blue and light green, not my chose but the babys momma..lol..
Here is my little Pretty in Pink Blackberry :) she makes me so very happy that I have to take pics of her to show all you Hello kitty fans out there in blogger land . The theme I have on my BB is from http://www.themes4bb.com/ and they have quit a few Hello kittys and other things to bling up your BB, so go check it out.
Every since I got this little piece of joy I have really learned alot about everything it can do. Some of my favorite places to visit for more information are http://www.crackberry.com/ , http://www.themes4bb.com/, http://www.blueroomsolutions.com/ . There is also the Blackberry.com site for any questions you may have ,but crackberry.com seems to really been the shit on technical issues and finding great themes to download to your phone.
I am still working on clue 1 of the MS4 and have to say I really love it! I should have more time this week to sit down and really get clue 1 finished.
Tell next time , keep on smiling peps..

Carrie Underwood and yarn

Last weekend was Labor day and we all went camping and floating at the Illinois River north of Tahlequah ,Oklahoma Well since this would be a busy river weekend me and a girlfriend decided to pick up some Marti Gra beads for the guys at the Doller Tree. Guess who was there looking smashing.. Carrie Underwood ! she went to school there and was trying to buy a baby gift for her friend ..lol.. I about fell out when I saw her., man is she pretty. No autograph or pictures because we didn't want to be rude and just rush her and be all crazy or anything, so all I have is the memory of seeing her up close and personal.. :) we did learn that she was there for the baby shower and for a free concert in Tahlequah for the festival . Now people Carrie tried to go to the Wal-mart right next door to the Dollor tree but it got really crazy and she had to be taken out to the building, so this is the reason she was at the Dollor tree..
Here is the Knitpicks Lace Gloss in Raisian I am using for the MS4, not a great pic but it will have to hold ya over till I take more ..

What have I been up too?

Above would be 2 weekends ago at Don's 40th birthday party.. He had a blast
Here is the Cake I had made for him. I call him my Superman because he can do anything,so I had it made with green for criptanight and black for turning 40..lol
This is the Rowan Kidsilk and beads I am using for my Ice Queen from knitty that is going very slowly at this point. I think I should have learned to do magic loop before trying this :)
And here is my New baby :) my Crackberry.. I am so addicted to this thing that I hold it in my hand 24/7, no joke. I don't know how in the world I lived without it. I found a wonderfull website called Crackberry.com that has really showed me how to use all the applications and functions on this phone. It has great forums for themes and technical questions and just is down right fun. I spend alot of time of the website and hope that one day I will be a Crackberry exspert :)
There is so much to update everyone on so I will just touch on a few. I am doing the MS4 which the first clue came out yesterday and i will start that today, I am using Knitpicks lace gloss in Raisins and some wonderfull beads I got here in Broken Arrow. I will post picks later.
on the Knitting front I am working on the Ice Queen which is really giving me a time since I have never done magic loop, I am still working on the Clapotis and of coarse the MS4.. I have decided that after all these little projects are over I want to make the central park hoodie :) I have never done anything this big and I am sure I will neeed more help than I now, but we all have to start somewere..
I have been doing Weight Watchers all week and hope to pay my dues maybe today and will be able to go to meetings and have access to the online tools. I just can't stand not being the skinny girl anymore and I am doing something about it. Don and I are starting the gym next week so I am sure in a matter of 6 months I will be doing well with the getting in shape and lossing the old lady body.
Till next time, be safe and happy knitting :)

More toy's

Sorry I have been away so long my boggy friends. I guess my mind is still on vacation and not paying attention to my blog. .most of my time has been spent working and just being down right lazy! Some of the things I have been doing are reading, which includes the knitting mystery series from Maggie Sexton. Knitting has become such a every day part of my life that reading about it seems like the next step. These books are a lot of fun and even more so since I got to meet Maggie Sexton in person a couple of months ago at a book signing here in Tulsa. Knit night never comes fast enough or last long enough. This last Wednesday my knit buddy showed me how to do magic loop. I have learned this because its been a long time coming and because I want to make the Ice Queen from knit ty. Now looking at the ice queen the first time on knit ty I said I liked it, but after seeing it in person I want to make one. Me wanting to make it, and me really making it are two different things all together! maybe I am a processor of the knitting and not a maker of projects..... That is something to think on. Also I have joined the MS4 on yahoo and on Raverly. Now referring to the above paragraph do you think I will finish the knit along :). I am sure going to try. I still have the uncompleted MS3 in the wings screaming at me to be finished, I think it will be a while before I can even think about it. On hold still a pair of socks for my better half and I am still working my clap otis . I have more than enough knitting to last a lifetime right now. Oh I almost forgot the new toy! The better half got me a Blackberry Curve last week:). He is so sweet to me that sometimes I wonder what in the world I did to be graced with such a sweet man. A lot of y know that I am a total tech nerd and love cell phones and computer. Well this phone has been on my wish list for about a year since it came out, but we just could not see paying 250.00 or more for it. Let me speak for myself here. I would have payed the listed price just because I wanted it, but mr wonderful was not for it. We were almost out of contract with t-mobile and they made him a deal he could not refuse. So I have my new toy and love it. There is still a lot I don't know how to do but I am learning. places Like Crackbery and Themes4bb.com and tube have been a big help and a great reference tool. Enough about me, what has everyone been knitting? What new electronics have you purchased? I want to know so leave me a comment and tell me all about it.

Back from Vacation

This is the private breakfast Don and I had at the bed and breakfast we found on our 3day of vacation in Missouri. The Inn is called Stone Ridge Inn Bed & Breakfast ,Proprietress Bessie Lee the sweetest woman you have ever meet in your life.Bess is the best cook I have come across. She fixed us a sack lunch the first day and that night we had a 10 coarse meal that made all of us cry is was so good!!! she is a amazing cook and it was truly the best meal I have had in my whole life. The next morning she made us by our request homemade biscuits and gravy..yummy.. I would suggest this Inn to anyone that wants piece and quit with a touch of grandma in every room. Her website is . http://www.geocities.com/hotarts/stoneridge/stone_ridge_inn_bed_2.htm
She is located in Dora ,Missouri. Make sure you click on the tour on the bottom of her web page to see the beauty of her Inn.
This is a picture taken at Dawt Mill in Missouri our first morning of vacation. It had stormed the night before and was still raining some. The fog on the Mountains was just amazing .
This is a picture I took on a float trip we took some were upstream from Dawt Mill..lol..

This is the bride at Hudgson Mill . I love this old mill and there are plenty along the road as we went from Dawt Mill to Springfield Missouri.
I think this is the only pic that came out that I took at Fantastic Caverns in Springfield.

The first morning we found this little dinner in Tecumscie . I love all the wood on the inside of diner, makes it look that the beautiful woods outside.
This is Don wish one of his many little fish he got..lol.. he is just so happy fishing :)
The is the Mill at Hudgson ...There is a store at the top were the little windows are that sale homemade crafts made by the locals.. I have to say this is my favorite mill..
The only place that we didn't get to go to was Sealed with a Kiss in Guthrie...humm, I think that was done on some level of intent and purpose by Don..lol. He hates the thought of me spending money on yarn. So we spent the money on fishing and camping this time. We had a wonderful time and wish it could have lasted forever, but we had to come home . I will go back to work this coming Monday with regret.. They have called me almost everyday I have been gone because of problems with staffing and other major issues, but that is part of being the supervisor.. :)
